This policy applies to everyone given access to the Email Verifier (“the service”). Access to the portal is conditional on accepting and following it. It also describes, for the benefit of mail administrators and network providers, the limits the service operates under.
1. Internal use only
- The service may be used only by authorized staff, for the operator's business purposes.
- Access may not be shared, lent, resold, or offered to third parties in any form, including as an API or bulk service.
- Credentials are personal. Staff must keep them confidential and report any suspected compromise immediately.
2. Permitted data
- Only addresses that we already hold through a legitimate relationship or business purpose may be submitted.
- No harvesting: addresses must not be scraped, purchased, rented, generated, guessed or enumerated (for example by trying name patterns or dictionary lists against a domain).
- The service must not be used to probe or map the mailboxes of any organization.
3. No sending
- The service never sends email; it ends each SMTP session before the
DATAcommand. It must not be modified, configured or combined with other tools to send messages. - Verification results must not be used to send unsolicited bulk email or any message that would breach anti-spam law or the operator's own communication policies.
4. Compliance with law
All use must comply with applicable law, including anti-spam and electronic communications law (such as the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and equivalent laws in other jurisdictions), data protection and privacy law, and computer misuse law. Verification does not create consent to receive email; any later communication must have its own lawful basis.
5. Rate limits
The service enforces the following limits automatically, and users must not attempt to bypass them (for example by splitting work across accounts or running other tools in parallel):
- About 60 checks per minute in total.
- At most 10 checks per recipient domain per 10 minutes.
- At most 40 checks per mailbox provider per 10 minutes.
6. Exclusions are honored
When a domain owner or mail administrator asks us to stop checking their domain, the domain is added to the service's exclusion list and is no longer checked. Users must not attempt to check excluded domains by any other means. See Abuse & opt-out.
7. Monitoring and enforcement
Use of the service may be monitored to ensure compliance with this policy. The operator may suspend or revoke access at any time for any breach, and will cooperate with mail administrators, network providers and authorities to investigate and resolve misuse.
8. Reporting
Anyone who believes the service has been misused can report it to abuse@lgpteam.com. Questions about this policy can be sent to contact@lgpteam.com.
